The outcome is a macro-hardness envelope of 61 to 64 HRC, combined with a carbide volume fraction that exceeds 30%, creating a matrix that resists both low-stress gouging and high-stress impact abrasion. Core bars and plunger walls are machined on 5-axis CNC equipment to hold a perpendicularity tolerance of 0.05 mm across the full cavity depth, ensuring every demolded block exhibits sharp arrises and identical height. Before assembly, each component undergoes cryogenic stabilization to transform retained austenite, eliminating the risk of in-service expansion. The mold box itself is stress-relieved inside a gas-fired roller hearth furnace, and the final baseplate flatness is confirmed to within 0.15 mm per linear meter using a laser tramming system. To support fast product changeovers, the quick-clamp shoes are machined from pre-hardened 4140 steel and tested to withstand a lateral shear load of 85 kN without displacement.

Every mold leaving the assembly bay is subjected to a full-coordinate measurement machine (CMM) verification of cavity spacing, and a static pressure test at 1.5 times the rated forming pressure to validate the weld seams.
